By accessing the VocTap website or using the VocTap browser extension, you agree to these Terms of Use.

If you do not agree with these terms, do not use the site or the extension.

Who provides VocTap

VocTap is provided under the VocTap brand.

Using VocTap

You may use VocTap for personal language learning, vocabulary review, and subtitle-assisted study.

You agree not to misuse the service, interfere with rate limits, or attempt to extract or abuse AI-powered lookup or related services.

Educational-only and AI disclaimer

AI-powered lookup is enabled by default in the Chrome Web Store build and can be turned off in the extension settings. AI-generated explanations may be incorrect, incomplete, delayed, or unavailable.

VocTap is for educational use only and does not provide legal, medical, financial, or other professional advice. You are responsible for reviewing AI-generated explanations before relying on them.

Third-party content and availability

Dictionary, example, subtitle, pronunciation, and AI features depend on third-party services and may change, rate limit, or become unavailable.

VocTap may update, suspend, or refine features to keep the product compliant, secure, and reliable.

Local-only learning data in the store build

The submitted Chrome Web Store build does not include sign-in, user accounts, or cloud sync. Saved words, subtitle lines, review state, and settings remain in the browser.

If future versions add account-based experiences, they may be governed by additional product notices or updated terms.

Paid plans, billing, and refunds

VocTap is free to use. Where a paid plan is offered, its price and billing period are shown at /pricing and at checkout before you confirm an order.

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com Market Ltd is the Merchant of Record for all such orders, handles payment, tax, and refunds, and its Buyer Terms and Conditions apply alongside these terms.

Paid plans renew automatically until cancelled, and can be cancelled at any time. Refunds are covered by the VocTap Refund Policy at /refunds, which does not limit any statutory rights you have as a consumer.

Termination or suspension

VocTap may limit, suspend, or block abusive or harmful use, including attempts to bypass safeguards, overload the service, or misuse AI-powered lookup or related services.

VocTap may also change or remove features if needed for safety, reliability, platform compliance, or legal reasons.

Warranty disclaimer

VocTap is provided on an "as available" and "as is" basis.

While reasonable efforts may be made to keep the site and extension useful and reliable, there is no promise that the service will always be error-free, uninterrupted, or suitable for every purpose.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, VocTap will not be responsible for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or similar damages arising from use of the site, the extension, or AI-powered lookup outputs.

If liability is imposed despite this limitation, it will be limited to the amount, if any, you paid directly for VocTap in the 12 months before the claim. For the current free release, that amount is zero.

Changes to these terms

VocTap may update these Terms of Use as the product, platform requirements, or applicable laws change. The Last updated date will change when these terms are revised.

If a material change affects how users may access or use VocTap, VocTap will provide notice when required.
